Interview – Zuzana Jurasikova

Bio:

Zuzana Jurašíková has worked in the education field for about 10 years. She taught English in Greece and Ukraine and organized educational activities for language learners in Oxford and London. Thanks to her passion for international education, she spoke at conferences in the United States and organized internship programs for American students. Her love for languages brought her to Spain, where she studied another world language and focused her career on digital education and blended learning. Nowadays, Zuzana is based in Prague and works as a Customer Success Consultant at Oxford University Press.

Tell us a few words about your role in OUP.

In my role, I help teachers across Europe to make the most of our digital solutions and advice on how they can incorporate them into blended learning.

What is Oxford Reading Club?

Oxford Reading Club is basically a reading revolution! It is a digital library where you can find hundreds of English graded readers. It doesn’t matter if you are 10 years old or an adult, a beginner, or an advanced speaker. Everyone can find plenty of fun reading options based on their individual needs.

Are there readers from specific or all OUP readers series?

All popular OUP series such as Bookworms, Dominoes, Oxford Reading Stars etc. can be found on Oxford Reading Club. There are currently 13 series available.

What are the benefits for the subscribers?

You can read your way to better English anytime and anywhere. Oxford Reading Club can be used on computers but it can be also downloaded as an application to a phone or tablet. The best thing is that it works online AND offline. This means you can enjoy all of its interactive features at your home, while traveling on public transport or even on the beach – the options are endless!

What makes it unique?

We have really done our best to bring the graded readers to life in the virtual space. We have taken our e-books and added audio at adjustable speed, vocabulary games, speaking activities and even an embedded dictionary. Oxford Reading Club is an interactive library that keeps the students engaged and motivated.

If I asked you to summarize ORC in three words, what would these words be?

Read – Learn – Enjoy
