The webinar examines prevalent misconceptions about educating SEN learners while shedding light on the differences between inclusive and special education. The webinar also covers what perspectives, practices, and resources promote meaningful learning opportunities. Together we will walk the thin line and discover the myths and realities regarding SEN learners in the 21st century classroom.

8 JUNE 2023 10:00 – 11:00 – “How to Motivate Your Learners”
‘I have a text on page 17. How can I build an interesting lesson around it?’ This very practical step-by-step workshop looks at the way experienced teachers build effective lessons around what is usually the engine of a Coursebook Unit: the text. We will be aiming to answer questions such as:
® ‘How can I get my students interested in reading the text?’
® ‘How can I get them to engage with it?’
® ‘How can I relate the text to their own experiences?’
® ‘How can I use the text as a springboard to practice other skills such as speaking or writing?’
Now let us see whether I am a good mind-reader: I believe you are thinking to yourself: ‘Do all these things take long to prepare?’ and ‘Will I be able to apply these ideas to a wide range of Listening and Reading texts? The answers are ‘No’ and ‘Yes’.
Speaker: Nick Michelioudakis
